Last June, YouTube rolled out Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode for Premium subscribers on iPhones and iPads in the US and now the company has announced that this feature will be available for all devices running iOS and iPadOS 15.0 or versions. later globally.
YouTube Premium users worldwide will be able to play music and non-music content in PiP mode on their iPhones and iPads, which means they can watch videos in a small floating window while browsing other apps on their devices at the same time.

However, for non-Premium users, the PiP mode will only be available for free in the US and only for non-music content. So, if you live in the US and want PiP mode for music content, you’ll need to purchase a YouTube Premium membership.
YouTube, in its blog post, said PiP for iPhone and iPad will be released to everyone “in the next few days,” but in its tweet, the company said it is “rolling slowly” for users. Either way, it’s sure to take at least a couple of weeks for all eligible iPhone / iPad users to get this feature on their devices.
