Sonic the Hedgehog has been Mario’s second fiddle for many years, but that may change after the announcement of a new Sonic game in 2022 at the Sonic Central livestream event last month. Now, Sonic Team Developer Takashi Iizuka has said he wants the new game to have the same influence as Sonic Adventure in 1998.
