Among the new functions implemented by the Meta group is that of preventing third parties from accessing our personal chats on WhatsApp. The news was announced by Mark Zuckerberg in a post shared on social media. Chat Lock allows you to block chats on the application and remove them from the general list.
The chats will then be merged into one specialized folder accessible only through biometric data such as entering a password, fingerprint or face scan. The user also has the option to choose two-factor authentication, using both the unlock password and one of fingerprints or face scan.
To take advantage of the function, keep the chat pressed, when the drop-down menu appears, choose the “chat lock” item. Message notifications of hidden chats will still arrive, although the sender’s name and text content will be hidden without having to do this trick to not let them see.
Unlike Archived Chats, a feature mostly used to get rid of those conversations you no longer want to participate in, Chat Lock alerts users when there’s an incoming message.
