Microsoft decided to go big at this year’s E3, using the event to announce a wide range of games, show new trailers, and reveal details about some of the titles coming to Xbox Game Pass over the course of the next year. The fact that the company also acquired Bethesda means there was even more news to dig. Here are all the major announcements and trailers from Xbox and Bethesda Showcase of E3 2021.
Starfield comes out in 2022
The show opened with a brand new trailer for Bethesda Starfield’s upcoming space RPG. While little gameplay was revealed in the footage, it gave a better idea of what fans can expect from the title. It has also been confirmed that the game will be released on November 11, 2022.
Halo: Infinite will arrive later this year
While there was no exact release date for Halo: Infinite, Microsoft confirmed that it would launch in the second half of this year. However, the showcase also revealed that the multiplayer aspect of the game will be free-to-play, which will be released alongside the campaign.
Forza Horizon 5 gameplay revelation
The Showcase was also the debut of Forza Horizon 5. This time around, the action will be set in Mexico with sprawling deserts, new events and a wider range of cars for players to get behind the wheel.
STALKER 2: Heart Of Chernobyl announced
STALKER 2: Heart Of Chernobyl will arrive on April 28, 2022, and the Showcase included a short teaser trailer for the post-apocalyptic first-person shooter.

Left4Dead’s spiritual successor has been given some screen time, with the trailer focusing on PvP mode being included in the game when it launches on Xbox Game Pass.
Psychonauts 2 will launch in August
The highly anticipated sequel to Double Fine Productions will be released on Xbox Game Pass on August 25 this year, and Microsoft has given fans a brand new game trailer for them to check out.
A new expansion for Fallout 76
While Fallout fans might have been hoping for news of a full-fledged sequel, Bethesda has revealed that a new expansion is on the way for Fallout 76. Steel Reign will wrap up the Brotherhood of Steel storyline and will be available on July 7, 2021.
Redfall announced by Arkane Studios
The developer behind Prey and Dishonored is also working on a new game called Redfall. The trailer suggests that it will be a cooperative multiplayer game in which players will have to fight against vampires using unique skills and weapons.
Microsoft Flight Simulator will arrive on consoles in August
After being available on PC for several months, Microsoft has confirmed that its flight sim game will arrive on Xbox Series X | S this summer and will have a collaboration with Top Gun.
The Outer Worlds 2 is in the works
A very short teaser trailer confirmed that a sequel to Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds is in development. However, it is unclear exactly when it will be released or where it will be set.
Xbox Game Pass is getting even better
Microsoft has confirmed that 31 games will arrive on Xbox Game Pass on day one, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator and Halo: Infinite. 11 other games from Bethesda are also coming to the service, including Fallout 76 and a next-gen update for Doom Eternal.
Many new games are coming to Xbox
During the presentation, Microsoft confirmed that Among Us, Hades, 12 Minutes and Slime Rancher 2 will all be coming to Xbox in the near future and will be available via Xbox Game Pass. There’s also a new snowboard game called Shredders coming up, as well as new trailers for Atomic Heart, The Ascent, and Replaced.
