Ever felt like one set of USB chargers/cables charges your device very quickly and the other doesn't? Now you can try this with Ampere APK.
Measure the charging and discharging current of your battery.

Not all devices are supported as there are devices that lack a suitable measurement chip (or interface) and may not be supported at all. Please read the list of unsupported phones at the end of the description.
The app is not designed to be accurate to mA. It's just to evaluate which charger and USB cable combination works best for you on the same device. Ampere APK is the best possible choice for those looking for apps.
Start the app and wait about 10 seconds ("Measurement" is on the screen). After this time, the charging or discharging current is displayed.
The current depends on many things:
- Charger (USB/AC/Wireless)
- USB cable
- Phone guy
- Current running tasks
- Brightness of the screen
- Wi-Fi status
- GPS status
Please do not use the readings in this app as hard science. However, the readings are good enough to give a relative estimate of how multiple chargers and USB cables will perform on the same device.
If the app keeps showing 0mA, use the Previous Measurement Method configuration option. You can force the app to use the old measurement interface if the Lollipop device has at least one.
Unfortunately, some Samsung devices do not provide correct (measured) values (e.g. S5), but only the maximum possible charging current with the actual charging/USB cable configuration. This is a firmware issue.
General information: The app measures the charge/discharge current of the battery. If your phone is not connected to a charger, you will see the discharge current, which is negative. When you connect a charger, the power provided by the charger is used to power your phone and the remaining power charges the battery.
If your phone draws 300mA without a charger connected (-300mA on display), a 500mA charger will charge your battery with at most 200mA of current (200mA on display).
Technical information: The displayed current is an average of 50 measurements minus the 10 high values and the 10 low values. The displayed current may be unstable or unstable, or even zero, which means that the Android system provides unstable values. Each company uses different battery types and different hardware, making it difficult to get accurate results about your charger.
LiPo batteries do not consume the maximum during the entire charging time of the phone. When your battery is almost fully charged, the charging current will be much lower due to the lower battery level.
