Name of the app you are reviewing: Breath of Fire I
The first game in the series undoubtedly starts well, but it's not that great. For those who are fans of course the game is much more than a classic is a masterpiece. Personally I liked the game, but I think it could be improved, there are older games than this one and they are a little better.
Review:
Breath of Fire is really interesting, whether for its captivating way of introducing us to some characters, showing their determination making us have an attachment and creating bonds of support for such characters. Whether for its very interesting graphics for its time and very satisfying, well-crafted designs, the physical form is very interesting. Also because of the story that doesn't compromise, it's even exciting makes you want to know “what's next?”, “what's the next character to join the team?”, “is Zog the bad guy in the story?”. The gameplay is also very comfortable, you can see the HP of your enemies, it has interesting spells and twists in the gameplay of certain characters, in addition to the focus on the action being very big, you face several bosses during the game. But the game leaves something to be desired in some ways…
The first aspect is that the characters go on a journey together, that is, they spend a LOT of time together, and in most of the game's cutscenes (there are few), there are few interactions between them, not even in dungeons, there is not a moment where the team get together and talk, it's as if they only walk together for the sake of walking, and this makes it difficult to analyze the behavior of certain characters. By the way, another bad aspect comes from it too, the aspect is repeated, Ox, Bo and Ryu are quiet, 3 out of 8 characters share the same characteristics, oh, coincidence or lack of desire of the developers to give the characters a little more personality. And finally, the game is so non-linear, you have to rack your brains to know what to do (seriously, I burned my skull to make this walkthrough, I avoided looking in some sources as much as possible, but I had to), the game itself is easy to complete, but the lack of indications of where to go, can compromise people's will to play, because sometimes it gets boring looking for so much, with the sounds helping you (not that the sounds are bad, but try to listen one song for hours)
Would you recommend this to other users? Of corse, the game is good, but it could be better, sometimes I think there was a concern with certain things that they considered important, and they left out less important things, they may actually be, but they are essential for the logic of an RPG
Grade: 8.2/10
*Note refers to SNES version
