On April 3rd,1979, Nintendo brought their own version of the Atari's Breakout game to home consoles. Block breaker allowed users to use a dial on a controller to move the on-screen paddle back and forth to keep the ball moving between the paddle and the blocks above. When the ball came in contact with the blocks, it would bounce off and return to the direction of the paddle. The object of the game was to "break" all blocks.
My grandmother used to play hers when we were younger and she always loved it. She used to joke around about how that was the only video game she would ever learn how to play.
