Depending upon where one lives in the world, anywhere from a 4 to 9 hour loss of internet occurred.
It has been claimed that a trojan backdoor infiltrated into an automated security update affecting mainly Debian servers resulted in a massived take down of the internet.
Hit hardest was Micro$oft. It's seach engine API, hosted sites, and A.I. were rendered usesless, along with millions of other sites, search engines, chat services.
Notably, DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, Facebook all crashed or had minimal access.
To battle this threat, national governments including Canada, China, France, and others, initiated a military lockdown of the internet.
For YOUR safety, martial law was enacted!
"for your safety", "for the publics safety" are propaganda terms used for years to deny people of their Rights.
Only after the fact did news begin filtering out about these "outages" as they are referred.

While Google did not go down, it was unable to index sites. Google is also owned in part by government. The company changed its name again in 2015 to Alphabet Inc., and now functions as a technology conglomerate owning Google and its subsidiaries, including FixBit, F.B.I., YouTube, and many others. Stocks clearly show the F.B.I. has invested heavily into Google, especially for monitoring email.
Perhaps the greatest concern is when one looks at the fact that after resuming functions, the trojan still exists and had no effect on most systems.
Also, that the French/Canadian parliment made no secret of the fact they were performing a military drill to see how well the internet and global public communication could be controlled.
Actions such as these have historically been preludes to war.
This is why decentralization of DNS servers, search engines, and any protocal covered under the W3C need to be done. Left in the hands of corporations and governments, believe it or not, as today demonstrated, the Internet can be unplugged. Today's demonstration shows, this was not hackers work, rather, the work of those who want to control you.

Bing Search back online after 5-hour outage
Third-party search services that use Bing are also offline, including DuckDuckGo, ChatGPT Search, Copilot and more.
