To be honest, this movie is just so incredibly hard to watch that I can't even recommend it to most of my friends. The violence here isn't the fun, slasher kind that you get in Hollywood movies; it is deeply traumatic, ugly, and physically exhausting to sit through. It really messes with your head and leaves you feeling completely miserable. Another thing that bothered me was how the second half slowed down so much. It completely changes its energy from a crazy, fast-paced revenge story into this long, repetitive, and deeply depressing sequence of a girl being tortured in a cold basement. It felt less like a movie and more like an endurance test, which can make a lot of viewers just want to turn it of anddd Honestly, Martyrs is a total masterpiece, but it’s the kind of movie I will absolutely never watch again in my life. It starts off looking like a typical story about a girl trying to get back at the people who abused her as a child, but then it completely flips the script and turns into this deeply disturbing, philosophical look at human pain and what happens after we die. It really makes you think about how dark human nature can get when people become obsessed with a cult-like belief. The whole atmosphere feels so cold and hopeless, and the acting is so raw that it actually feels real. If you have a really strong stomach and want something that will challenge your mind, it’s brilliant, but just be prepared to feel completely empty and sad for a few days after the credits roll and sorry ik i spoke too much!!! •_•, lol but yk i actually loved the movie but its still disturbing
Would you recommend this to other users? Not really, maybe if u like gore and have no problem with real bloody disturbing topics
