Shinobi is an action/platform style game released in 1987 for Arcade and 1988 for Master System and other consoles.
Review:
Unlike other SMS games like Altered Beast, it can be considered a very extensive game, having a total of 5 missions and within them, 3 stages plus the boss (except for the first mission that has only 2 stages and the boss). Overall the game is well built, from enemies to stages/missions, it has a total of 7 weapons and 6 spells, taking into account other games of the time, this is a great advance over the old problem of few options for weapons or spells. The other points will be discussed below.
Strengths: Graphics, which can be considered good for the console level; Difficulty, the game becomes very difficult in the last two missions and the gameplay, which is very practical.
Weaknesses: The bosses, they could be a little more difficult, especially the Lobster of the fourth mission, which is considerably easier than the one in the previous mission and its soundtrack, which could be a little more refined.
History:
The player controls a ninja named Joe Musashi who has the mission to stop a criminal organization called "Zeed" that kidnapped the children of his ninja clan. Through five missions (consisting of three stages for the first mission and four stages for the other four stages), Musashi must free all the hostages in the first two or three stages before facing the boss in each final stage of each mission. At the start of each mission, the player is shown their objective, followed by a file that contains a photograph of the boss and a map display showing the position of the next stage.
