Name of the movie you are reviewing: Novocaine
A bank employee with a genetic condition called CIPA, which prevents him from feeling any physical pain, uses his condition to save the girl he likes from criminals after they kidnap her during a bank heist.
Review:
Novocaine is an action-comedy that revolves around an assistant bank manager named Nathan Caine (Jack Quaid) who has a rare genetic disorder called CIPA that prevents him from feeling any pain. When his love interest is taken hostage during a bank robbery, Nathan uses his unique "ability" to track down the criminals and save her.
Even with the absurd concept, the movie is a wildly fun, humorous, gory, and overall chaotic ride. The action scenes are creative, at times brutal, and use Nathan's ability to take massive damage and still be able to keep going to its fullest.
Jack Quaid shines as the charmingly awkward guy who's playing hero after his newfound bravado.
While the movie is fun to watch and has a nice twist in between to make things a little more interesting, the romance arc of the movie is a little cliché, which makes things predictable and softens the blow when those things actually happen.
Overall the movie is a good choice if you want to watch an action-comedy with a bit of gore that doesn't take itself too seriously.
In India, Novocaine is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video and can be rented from Zee5 or Apple TV.
