I'm trying to persuade my friend to listen to metal by introducing some avenged songs as they have heard some like Hail to the king and so far away . Thanks in advance .

I would start with their older stuff like Seize the Day or Beast and the Harlot. Then slowly make your way forward in time with different fan faves like Dear God, Bat Country, Nightmare, and a few others (just not in that order lol). Then end with The Stage xD
Hmm... Thrice, Story of the Year, and AFI came to mind for me, but I'm not sure if they're metal enough...?
