Name of the movie you are reviewing: Strange Magic
An animated, feel good, romance musical. What more could you want?
Review:
Is the plot rushed? Yes.
Is there more singing than actual things happening? Yes.
The music is the movie and a lot of it is sung by Kelly Clarkson. At the end of the day It's just a lot of fun. This is not a movie you watch for the plot. It's mostly music and comedy.
Ther is a cute moral to the story and that is.. love's a nightmare... I'm kidding, It's the classic *vague spoiler slash everyone can see it coming* Don't judge a book by it's cover.
It's worth the watch just for fun.
If you can't suspend your disbelief enough to ignore the plot-holes then you can always spend the time ripping it apart with your sassy commentary.
Yes, I am ignoring any and all references to this being an adaptation of Shakespeare because I believe it's better that way. (I mean I see the love potion/spell and the while it making the lovers spend time loving on the wrong person... like I see it it's just it's own thing in my mind).
So from a story and adaptation standpoint... Well let's just say the Comedy would not save it.
Luckily, as a feel good short hour or so of fun, It' s a ten out of ten for me.
