My rooted modding device was bricked.
I was testing out a security camera with custom app.
That app hijacked the keyboard, created a tunnel all the way to China, and began adding code that my security app marked as a major threat and killed the process. The damage however was done.
Nothing appeared in initial scans.
A closer look revealed military grade obfuscation.
The protection translates to 'Tencent Yu Security'.
Tencent is a Chinese military software developer and they have spyware in many apps.
I have encountered other Tencent protections, some on par with AppDome.
A more in depth scan reveals
Very little can be found about this protection/malware.
