TV Series adaptation of Marvel's anti-hero The Punisher
Review:
The Punisher was first introduced in the second season of Daredevil, another Tv series by Marvel, though fortunately it is not required to watch that in order to understand the actual tv series made about him. First season is a journey as Frank Castle, also known as The Punisher or Pete hunts down the truth about his family's murder, helped by a mysterious person who's had a similar fate. I would say the writing in this series is quite good, and the casting was just as good. Jon has made an excellent job at portraying Castle, and I truly believe there's no one out there who could be half as good as him. Kind of like Robert Downey Jr. with Ironman or Chris Hemsworth with Thor, their portrayal is so iconic that it'll be a while before some other actor steps in to take the role, same with Jon and The Punisher I believe. If you love Deadpool or other anti-heroes I think you'll love The Punisher, the fight scenes are brutal and gruesome, he's absolutely merciless and terrifying, on the edge of insanity at times. Every hero needs a villain though, and they did not disappoint (Though in my opinion Jigsaw's face could have been butchered a bit more, not just because he deserves it but he's not.. scary enough). I would say season two wasn't about some personal vendetta anymore but rather just Frank Castle becoming once again The Punisher to serve some justice, in his own murderous way. Wasn't as nice as the first season and it was kind of hard to watch, took me a while just because I wasn't really invested in the story, probably part of the reason why the show was cancelled. It was good, could have been better, but the acting and the fight scenes make up for it for the most part.
Would you recommend this to other users? Honestly think it could have ended with the first season, so I would recommend watching that but maybe avoid the second one.
