A story taking place on the Continent. The story follows Geralt of Rivia, a witcher who is not sure about his place in society. The story is from the perspective of 3 characters, namely Geralt, Yennefer, a mage who also is not sure about her place in society, and Ciri, the grandaughter of the queen of Cintra. Their lives interwine through destiny.
Review:
The Witcher is a masterpiece. I fell in love with the show, and have already moved onto the game and the books. The enthralling storytelling of the show, and the characters and their struggles, captured my heart. Let me talk about the characters, starting with Geralt. He is shunned by humans for being a witcher, yet he still treats them with respect. His philosophies and attiudre make him a typical 'cool' badass. His fight scenes are directed beautifully, as if they are art in motion. Next is Yennefer, a hunchback with untapped magic potential, who is sold by her father to a 'witch' for 4. Yennefer is weak initially, mentally and physically, but she soon develops into a beautiful, powerful mage after training her magic. She is ambitious, and is always chasing something more, but she never gets what she truly wants. The next character is Cirilla, or Ciri. She is a young girl, grandaughter to the powerful Queen of Cintra. Early on in the show, Cintra falls, and Ciri loses almost everyone she loves. However, she has some unexplained special powers, and this is why the city was attacked by Nilfgaard. Destiny plays an important role in the show, and the charcters often face the question of whether destiny is a thing or not.
Would you recommend this to other users? yes, I would highly recommend it if you like fantasy at all, and even if you don't, give it a shot anyway.
