So, I've been drawing for a while now and I can kinda draw easy characters from their side profiles but I want to take it just a bit further and try to make my own character. Do you have any tips on how to improve my drawing skills? Anything would be equally helpful. Have a great evening/night/afternoon/morning!^^

Hi! I think the best way to improve is to just practice a lot. Also use references as much as you can, this helps to study anatomy and proportions better. Whatever I draw I always use references, some might say that it's cheating and stuff but I don't believe so at all, because how are you supposed to draw something you don't know how to draw? I also recommend trying different styles to find one that fits you the best. Those are the tips I use while drawing, hope this helps! :)

it's always good to start from a foundation based in life drawing, even if your style is cartoony. once you know how bodies work it makes it easier to stylize them. i saw drastic improvement in my own art after taking a life drawing course. you may have a community art center or college which offers these courses or, if you cannot afford it, there's plenty of videos and other resources online. please note, life drawing is when you sketch poses modeled by a model who is often nude. just in case that's a problem. but it helps you learn how the muscles work, how different body types looks, and so on. you don't have to be good at rendering realism, either. i'm not.
