Xiaomi has broken new ground with the Redmi Note 12 series. Not only is this the first mid-range series to feature a 200MP camera, this series is also home to the first phone to break the 200 Watt charging barrier.

Note that the four models are only available in China for now, but are expected to launch to an international audience soon enough. When they do (and assuming there aren’t any changes that break the deal), would you buy one?

We will start with Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro as it is the centerpiece of the series. It features a 6.67 “120Hz OLED display (10-bit panel, Dolby Vision) and is powered by Dimensity 1080 (an upgraded 920, the reason will be clear soon). A 5,000mAh battery is also on board with 67W fast charging support

This model has a decent camera package with a 50MP primary module (IMX766, 1 / 1.56 “, 1.0µm) with OIS, flanked by an 8MP (119 °) ultra wide-angle camera and a 2MP macro cam, plus to a 16MP selfie camera.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro launched in China at CNY 1,700 ($ 235 / € 235 / ₹ 19,300) for the 6/128 GB base model.
