I'm also holding off on rooting my device, until I better understand what it does, and how to do it. It essentially removes a lot of the restrictions that were placed on it when it was first built, by the manufacturer. Along with removing the preinstalled apps and services (called bloatware), which you can only erase completely by rooting device, you can also do anything that is possible with
Lucky Patcher . Someone else posted a thread earlier this week, or last week, which advised playing around with LP, cuz it can do much more than free in-app purchasing. Dunno what that means, in actuality, but you'd need a rooted device to find out.
Please be aware that rooting involves major alteration of any device's OS software, and it can go wrong a bunch of different ways. It's definitely worth taking the risk, but a failed attempt to root can result in voiding the warranty on it or even permanent damage to a device (turning it into a brick, essentially); although, with many one-click rooting apps now available, that is less likely to happen... so I'm led to believe, anyways. Here's a link to one such services (not an endorsement, I've never actually rooted any device, yet; but this site has a list of pretty much any device that is easy to root, via some one-click app [Oh yeah, not every device can even be rooted, like certain models of the Samsung S7 and S7 Edge, for example-- make sure you can find somewhere that says it is available for your device, like this site]):
Check Root Availability
You can check yourself, for availability, or even ask questions via live chat, if you need help or don't know how to get the very specific info they need to check for your device availability. Good luck!
