Why is Meg Griffin hated?

I never see Meg is both Respectd and Loved instead, He is bullied and Hated by her own Friend or even Her own Family, is it is there a reason for this or is it because the scriptwriter itself of the story made her treated like an animal?

everyone hates Meg on Family Guy specifically because there isn’t really anything to hate about her, and the whole point is that she’s being held to unrealistic expectations.

I personally like Meg most of the times. She's one of the few who's down to earth, what we would call somewhat normal. I guess that her, being normal like that, makes the rest of the family dislike her, not essentially hate her. I find her amusing to be honest, sadly doesn't get much attention as she should!

I think Seth just went for the female teen thus should be hated. No other reason, they call it ugly and fat but really no deep reason
