Casryth stepped forward and cringed a little from the pain. "Please, I need your help, for the sake of my family!" she called out.

An old woman slowly stepped out of the cabin. Her face was covered by her hood as she limped forward, supporting her weight on her walking stick.
"Step forward my child," the woman spoke to Casryth.
Eris and the others fell back to give Casryth and the old woman the space they needed. Worried, Eris took Zehn's hand in hers.

Casryth stepped forward and kneeled, presenting the scroll to the sage. "Thank you for meeting me. I offer this gift and I request your assistance," she said softly.

"Then you are aware you will have to face these trials alone, without the help of your friends. Are you ready to hear what the first trial requires, my child?"

"I am aware. These people are my family, not just my friends. I need a guarantee that they will not be harmed. This is my mission, not theirs," Casryth declared.

"Your family of misfits will be safe child. Only you face a risk with these trials," the sage replied.

Eris standing on the side peered on, worried. She did not like the sound of this. Her grip on Zehn's hand tightened for support.

"You will battle three beasts on your own, Casryth, in three separate battles, with nothing but your weapon of choice and the spells you have memorized. Your "family" will be bound in a magic proof observation deck so they cannot interfere. This will show if you have the courage worthy of completing the trials," the woman declared.
