Soon after Huawei has confirmed that the Mate 50 series will launch on September 6, more news about the Mate 50 arrives including charging speeds, a camera function and the expected chipset.
The certification lists three unique Mate 50 models, presumably Huawei Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS Porsche Design. They are listed to support charging speeds of up to 66W (11V @ 6A), as well as 10W (5V @ 2A) and 40W (10V @ 4A).

In another report by Digital chat station via Weibo, there is talk of a fourth Huawei Mate 50E model that will be powered by the Snapdragon 778G. Meanwhile, Huawei Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro are rumored to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Second My drivers‘supply chain sources, the Mate 50 series will use only 4G solutions. The Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS are said to use notched displays.

In the camera department, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro is expected to use a variable aperture group on its main camera. We saw a similar implementation with the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S10 series where the camera could choose an aperture of f.1.7 or regular to f / 2.4. Samsung would only implement variable aperture on two generations of Galaxy S and Galaxy Note flagships. The optimal aperture is selected according to the shooting conditions.

Earlier this week, Huawei announced that it will hold a launch event for the Mate 50 series on September 6. We’ll also see Huawei’s XMage imaging engine set to replace the camera’s Leica branding by the end of the partnership between the two. Huawei may also unveil a 12.4-inch MatePad Pro at the event.
