Some users on the /r/Google Pixels subreddit are receiving free money from Google with a notification saying they are receiving the money to “try the Google Pay remittance experience”. Some get a modest amount, but others see their balance increase by more than $1,000.
“Dogfooding” means that Company employees are testing a new feature or service before making it publicly available. This suggests that Google is accidentally sending money to random users to “test” Google Pay features instead of paying their own employees who actually tested them.
