Google has just launched its latest flagship smartphones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, but of course there will also be a third member of the family: the more affordable, mid-range, Pixel 8a. It’s expected to release in the next few months, and today it’s leaked in all its glory in some CAD-based renders.

Unsurprisingly, the design language is incredibly similar to what we saw on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, right down to the very rounded corners – as it should be, we might add, since all three of these devices share most of their first name.

The camera “visor” is on the back, and the screen has more prominent bezels than the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, betraying the 8a’s lower price. The Pixel 8a measures 152.1 x 72.6 x 8.9 mm. This means it will be almost exactly the same size as its predecessor, the Pixel 7a, coming in at 152 x 72.9 x 9mm.

The screen size of the 8a should therefore be around 6.1 inches, and as you can see, there is a centered punch-hole for the selfie camera, along with two snaps on the back.

According to a benchmark run in August, the Pixel 8a will use an underclocked version of the Tensor G3 chipset that also powers the other two Pixel 8s. The 8a will have 8GB of RAM and will obviously run Android 14 from day one.
