Google has launched its first Pixel feature release for the year, and it’s bringing a trio of coveted features to the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, as well as some of Google’s older devices, smartwatches, and tablets.
Circle to search, announced during the launch of the Galaxy S24 series, is officially confirmed to arrive on Pixel 8 and 8 Pro on January 31st. The feature lets you search for information on the screen by holding down the Home button/navigation bar and circling, scribbling, or highlighting information without having to leave the screen.

Magic Compose is making its big appearance within the Google Messages app for Pixel 6 and newer devices. The feature offers generative AI responses based on your conversations and can be activated from a new option next to the emoji menu in the message type box. You’ll be able to select a writing style ranging from emotional to Shakespeare and adapt your message to be concise and professional for formal occasions. The Pixel 8 Pro will do all the heavy lifting on the device while the other Pixels will take advantage of the clouds

Google is making the Pixel 8 Pro’s temperature sensor much more useful as it can now take FDA-approved medical-grade body temperature measurements that can also be saved to your FitBit profile.
Photomoji is another new feature in the Google Messages app that lets you create reaction stickers from your photos. Nearby Share is now renamed Quick Share and works on any Android 6 and above phone. Seamless audio switching is also available on Pixel phones, Pixel Watch and Watch 2, and Pixel tablets, and allows automatic switching between devices paired with Pixel Buds Pro.
