The Moto G series has a mix of 4G and 5G phones. The latest Moto G52 lost due to its 4G-only Snapdragon 680 chipset, and apparently the Moto G42 will use the same chipset. The leaked information shows that the upcoming Motorola Moto G62 will offer 5G connectivity, even if it will use an insignificant chipset to do so.

The G62 will reportedly be powered by the Snapdragon 480+, the same chipset used in the Moto G51 5G last year. Although it uses newer CPU cores and a more powerful Adreno GPU, the 480+ is manufactured on the older 8nm process, while the 680 is on a 6nm node.

Anyway, here the Snapdragon 480+ will be paired with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory, with the possibility of adding more, thanks to the microSD slot.

The Moto G62 will have a 6.5-inch 120Hz FHD + display. It will most likely be an AMOLED panel, judging by the lack of an apparent fingerprint reader. A punch in the display will be a 16MP selfie camera.

The three camera modules on the back will be configured as follows: 50MP main, 8MP ultra wide angle, and 2MP macro. The main camera will likely have 1080p video resolution as the 480 (+) doesn’t support 4K.

Moving forward, the phone will have a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging (the G52 has a battery of the same capacity and charges at 30W).

The Motorola Moto G62 will cost less than € 300, according to Win Future. However, considering the G52 costs € 250, there isn’t much room for maneuver. Further limiting the possible price range are the G71 5G at € 300 and the G82 at € 330.

A quick comparison between the Moto G62 and the G52 shows a slightly smaller display (6.5 “vs. 6.6”) with a higher refresh rate (120Hz vs. 90Hz), different chipset (Snapdragon 480+ vs. 680), same camera setup and same battery.
