Secondary missions

The Hidden Ones also finds time for fun distractions and fascinating diversions to break the more serious threads. Side quests tend to be the biggest source of such moments. For example, a regional search for allegedly lost treasures pays rather foolishly. It serves as a reminder of Bayek’s stunning range as a character.

Other encounters, typically with potential recruits or allies, play more on the brotherhood building aspect than the larger storyline. Consistently, each of these sequences highlights entertaining interactions between the characters and fascinating dialogue.

To be clear, moment-to-moment gameplay isn’t sacrificed in the name of narrative. The Hidden Ones offers a solid blend of fast-paced open world work, challenging combat encounters, and fluid platforms across Egypt.

Map

There are still the stone circles and collectible papyrus scrolls to be found. And there are still the expected encampments and base camps full of deadly soldiers to be eliminated. But they are less numerous and therefore easier to manage for completists.
