Game

Getting the combat right in RPGs is a tricky endeavor. You can use the fast-paced free-flowing systems used in the likes of Mass Effect or use a more simplistic approach like The Elder Scrolls. This game is more like the latter. However, it is much less refined and can seem clunky at times.

With so many different options to keep tabs on it can also be overwhelming. Disappointingly, even the different classes don’t offer much variety in terms of how combat works. Most of the time you will end up rushing and destroying enemies with your most powerful weapon.

GreedFall also offers players the ability to recruit companions. Each has their own distinctive fighting styles and skills. Depending on the type of situation you are approaching, bringing the right companions with you can be crucial. They can even influence conversations with other NPCs, giving you an edge in difficult encounters. You can enrich your companions by loving them or by completing additional missions, giving them backstory that you can explore.
