But Mass Effect 2 really shines when it comes to your crew. And boy, are they a mixed team?

The general premise is that you are recruiting the best of the best for what could be a suicide mission. As a result, you end up with characters like soldiers, assassins, mad scientists, and so on.

To find out more about them, you need to be on their good side. But that means navigating the social mine with your crew.

Play your cards right and you may even find love. Play them badly and you could chase a teammate away.

It’s a very rewarding system and makes starting casual conversations just as engaging as getting into combat.

Final verdict

Ultimately, I offer Mass Effect 2 my highest recommendation. It has something for everyone: fun “run and shoot” combat, deep storytelling, and loads of compelling story.

In fact, there’s only one bad thing about playing Mass Effect 2 – the rest of the series will let you down after playing it!
