Game
Each new battle royale tries to be somehow different from everyone else. Ring of Elysium has three things to differentiate it: one that changes the way you play each round, one at the end of each round, and one at the start of the game.
The aspect that changes the way you play each round is where you “quit”. You don’t start a round by jumping from a plane, or a party bus, or whatever the next battle royale will use to push the envelope. In Ring of Elysium, choose from a grid where you want to appear on the map. Aurora Studio used this style of “drop” because of the backstory they created for the battle royale.
You are trapped in an area where a natural disaster is coming hot, literally, an ash wall. A rescue helicopter is on the way, but can only save four people, not necessarily from the same team.
And that brings us to the big difference at the end of each round: you don’t win when you kill all the other enemies. You win if you can get into the rescue helicopter without getting shot. Hence, more people can win.
