Each season Aurora Studio seems to change the map and some of the kits; first the map was a snowy mountain and you could go snowboarding. It’s a great way to keep the game fresh. Many battle royale suffer from being unable to release new maps or make changes to the one they have.

With a few tweaks, Ring of Elysium could be one of the best battle royales out there. And you can rest assured that changes will be made – after all, it’s still in Early Access. Unfortunately, with all the choice given to them, players generally don’t have the patience to wait for things to improve, they just move on to something better. And it looks like that’s what’s happening.

Player counts have gone down in recent months, which means waiting times for matches are longer and when you play alone, you often play in maps that aren’t full.

However, if you play in teams you will be able to find a match almost instantly and the map will be full, so it’s best to stick with that for now. The decrease in players could be entirely due to the release of Apex Legends and the recent updates to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. This means that once people get tired of those games again, they will return to the Ring of Elysium.

All Battle Royale games go through ups and downs. Hopefully, Ring of Elysium can overcome this decline because, despite some shortcomings, the kits give it something that no other battle royale has.
