Going into the merits, the scam email has the subject “Online reward program“. Within communication, we find the news of a win with an award given by Google, for carrying out a certain number of searches through the reference search engine. The text shows how the user obtained the “lucky winner“.
As we can see it is a phishing attempt which is affecting Gmail users. It should be emphasized that it is not the first time of such a situation since, already a few months ago, a very similar scam has emerged.
Each phishing attempt can lead the user to interact and, sometimes, enter their data. As soon as we see such a communication we do not proceed in any way further: no we click on the link or on the present attachment, we do not enter personal data And we immediately trash the communication. Only in this way, we could counter this scam, and similar ones, without suffering the negative consequences that can be triggered.
