A scam has recently been circulating that affects Gmail users, in just a few clicks you can lose everything: here’s how to defend yourself.
Online scams can affect all services currently active on the net. From the best known and most used ones up to the more niche ones as demonstrated by a recent fraud affecting Gmail users.

The Google service, as we know, is very used and represents one of the best in spam filtering action. This system, however, was recently overtaken by cybercriminals who have implemented a very dangerous scam.
The scam takes place through a particular email that can lead to interaction with it. If we do, however, we can lose everything: from personal information up to your account details. Let’s go into the details so as to avoid any negative implications.
The dangerous Gmail scam: how it works and how to defend yourself
Google’s home system, Gmail, is among the most used in the world and it is precisely for this reason that hackers have concentrated their illegal activity recently. As reported by the The Mirror, many users are receiving communications announcing prizes right from Mountain View.
Going into the merits, the scam email has the subject “Online reward program“. Within communication, we find the news of a win with an award given by Google, for carrying out a certain number of searches through the reference search engine. The text shows how the user obtained the “lucky winner“.
As we can see it is a phishing attempt which is affecting Gmail users. It should be emphasized that it is not the first time of such a situation since, already a few months ago, a very similar scam has emerged.
Each phishing attempt can lead the user to interact and, sometimes, enter their data. As soon as we see such a communication we do not proceed in any way further: no we click on the link or on the present attachment, we do not enter personal data And we immediately trash the communication. Only in this way, we could counter this scam, and similar ones, without suffering the negative consequences that can be triggered. Therefore, in the event of a communication announcing a win from Google, we do not proceed further and try to report to the assistance so as to definitively stop this attempt.
