Developer Crystal Dynamics has revealed that it is making it more difficult to level up in the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S version of Marvel’s Avengers.
The game, which is already known within the gaming community for forcing players to endlessly grind, will increase the amount of XP for each level beyond 25.
Making the announcement on the official Marvel’s Avengers website, the developer confirmed that this change was a result of players apparently reaching max level 50 too quickly. This has apparently led some players to be overwhelmed by the extra features and game mechanics that become available with each new level.
Unlike many other similar games, Marvel’s Avengers requires users to collect the same amount of XP to progress through each level. Most titles have a sliding scale so that each subsequent level needs more XP to unlock than the previous one.
“This has led to pacing issues, such as skill points currently being rewarded too quickly, which could be confusing and overwhelming for new players. We want every decision to invest in a skill or heroic to be more meaningful, ”says Crystal Dynamics.
The new update that will bring the changes will launch on March 18, with Crystal Dynamics suggesting players who want to level cap faster to make sure they play before that date.
