Apple is expected to launch new MacBook Pro models later this year featuring touchscreen OLED displays and M6 series chips. The upcoming lineup was initially expected to replace the recently launched MacBook Pro M5 Pro and M5 Max models.

However, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, that may not be the case. Gurman suggests that the next MacBook could instead carry an Ultra moniker and sit above the M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBooks.

While Gurman isn’t sure whether Apple will adopt the Ultra branding or keep the traditional Pro name, the next laptop is expected to have a higher price tag. According to the analyst, the new OLED touchscreen MacBooks could see a price increase of up to 20%.

Gurman adds that Apple is planning to expand its lineup with options at different price points. The company recently introduced the more affordable MacBook Neo with a starting price of $599, and a similar tiered strategy could extend to its higher-end MacBook offerings as well.

New OLED MacBooks with touchscreens will reportedly launch in the fourth quarter of 2026.
