Samsung started open sales of the Galaxy S23 series last week and if you have one, you should know that the first update for the trio is already out. It is a small update that mostly updates the phone to the security fixes that came between the manufacturing and the release of the phone.
The Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra shipped with the January security patch out of the box, this update brings it up to February 1, 2023. The changes include 48 security improvements common to Android 13 and 7 phones for the One UI from Samsung.

The Samsung Galaxy is receiving its first software update
This update has been spotted on unlocked phones across Europe, but is expected to be available in other launch markets for the S23 series in the coming days. On S23 it weighs just over 500MB, on the Ultra model it is slightly more, although still under 600MB.
Samsung changed the update schedule for its premium models last year, promising 4 OS updates and 5 years of security patches. The S23 series is part of that, of course, so expect to see Android 14, 15, 16, and 17 and finish regularly scheduled security patches in 2028.
