AND Ice universe obsessed with the thickness of the bezel? Yes, but we don’t care: The Cat reports that the upcoming Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max will set a new record in this regard.

The black border around the screen of the new flagship will measure only 1.55mm, well below the 2.17mm of the current iPhone 14 Pro Max. The current record is held by the Xiaomi 13 with 1.81mm of thickness. For comparison, the bezels of the Galaxy 22 and S23 are around 1.95mm.

The glass panels of the iPhone 15 series were shown on video a couple of weeks ago. The person handling the panels reported that the bezels on the Pro models are thinner than those on the Vanilla phone (but that’s relative, so maybe the Vanilla phones are getting thinner too).

The Pro Max model won’t be alone, CAD renders show thinner bezels on the smaller iPhone 15 Pro as well. The two phones will use a so-called “Dynamic Island” design with a centered pill-shaped hole.

We also saw CAD renders for the vanilla iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. They will also switch to the Dynamic Island design, but ProMotion will remain exclusive to professionals, i.e. vanilla models will still have 60Hz displays.

A big change is coming to all iPhone 15 models: the USB-C port. This and more within this year.
