Last week, Chinese electric vehicle maker NIO launched its first smartphone called NIO Phone, which is receiving its first software update.
Some users received the update weighing in at 128MB, while others required a 558MB download, with the latter bringing intelligent vehicle control and the NIO Link relay to the smartphone.
Intelligent Vehicle Control offers support for fingerprint verification and on-board temperature synchronization when entering a NIO car, while NIO Link Relay allows users to transfer navigation to the on-board system and end it automatically on the NIO phone .

Additionally, NIO Link Relay adds voice command support for a countdown timer, world clock, and navigation route.
The NIO Phone runs SkyUI and has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC at the helm with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It is built around a 6.81-inch 120Hz 1440p OLED display and packs a 5,200mAh battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The NIO phone also features an in-display fingerprint scanner and has four cameras in tow: 50MP primary, 50MP periscope telephoto, 50MP ultrawide, and a selfie shooter.
