Yesterday Nothing unveiled some new information about its next smartphone, the Nothing phone (1), which will have a transparent back, support for wireless charging and a recycled aluminum frame.
However, the company has not yet revealed when the announcement of the Nothing (1) phone will take place. A new leak from Germany is here to rectify that, stating that the device will launch on July 21st. It is not clear if this is the start date of the sales or the presentation date, but in any case it should be an important day for Nothing and its smartphone ambitions.

What is far more intriguing is the just claimed price for the phone of around $ 500. With high-end smartphones becoming more and more expensive every year, this immediately makes us think that the Nothing (1) phone is unlikely to be a flagship with such a price. Maybe a “flagship killer” is in order from one of the brains behind the original “flagship killer”, OnePlus One?
We’re obviously talking about Nothing founder Carl Pei, also known as OnePlus co-founder before then. It wouldn’t be surprising if he tried to use a similar formula for this startup to the one he used in his previous startup, but of course this is just rumored information at the moment, so you should definitely take it with a grain of salt.
Pei himself said the Nothing (1) phone is coming this summer, though, and July is one of the summer months, so … let’s wait and see what happens. And while we wait, maybe someone wants to leak a real picture of the device? It’s kind of weird being this close to launch with zero renders leaked out there.
