Over the past couple of days both Apple and Google have revealed the dates of their upcoming fall launch events, and today OnePlus has its own announcement, but it’s not a new phone: the introduction of OnePlus Open is still up in the air. air, apparently.
Instead, the company revealed that it will release the stable OxygenOS 14, based on Android 14, on September 25. This is a rather optimistic timing from OnePlus, considering the fact that Google has not yet released stable Android 14.

It is expected that a public beta build of OxygenOS 14 will be released in the coming days for OnePlus 11, OnePlus 11R and OnePlus Nord 3. While it can therefore be assumed that all three of these devices will receive the stable version on September 25, the text is quite vague enough to make us feel the need to warn you: there was no mention of which specific model(s) will be blessed to run the next iteration of the OS that day, so we’ll just assume it’s going to just be OnePlus 11.
Clearly, though, the OnePlus 11R and Nord 3 won’t be far behind, even if they don’t receive it on the same day. It’s good to see such commitment from OnePlus regarding the quick release of a new version of Android and the inclusion of the Nord 3 in the first wave of updates – after all, it is a mid-range product and sometimes has to wait a few generations flagships to update first, before they too can have a piece of the pie.
OxygenOS 14 will have six areas of improvement, according to OnePlus, and these are: CPU Revitalization, RAM Revitalization, ROM Revitalization, HyperBoost, HyperTouch, and HyperRendering. We can’t tell you what these things mean, as OnePlus unfortunately hasn’t detailed them yet, but we’ll let you know when we know more.
