This is the brand new Poco M8 and is the latest addition to the historic M series. Our review unit is awaiting unboxing, so let’s not keep it waiting any longer.
Poco devices are usually well-equipped in these slim-box, accessory-free times, and the M8 is no different. The M8 comes bundled with a gray silicone case, a 45W power adapter, and a USB-C cable. The EU market will probably not have the bundled charger.
We have with us the green color variant, which features a matte two-tone approach on the back and a nice textured finish on the sides. The M8 comes with IP65 and IP66 dust and water protection and some forgotten features like an IR blaster on the top and a dual SIM slot, which can also accommodate a microSD card for storage.

You’ll be greeted by a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED screen (FHD+ 120Hz) on the front, which complements the curvature on the back and makes the M8 feel great in the hand. The dual-curved approach also adds the illusion of a thinner phone, though the M8 is no slouch at just 7.4mm and 178 grams.
Elsewhere, Poco M8 features a 50MP main camera with Light Fusion 400 sensor and a 2MP depth assistant. The remaining cutouts inside the camera island house the LED flash and a sticker.

The device comes with HyperOS 2, based on Android 15, although we would have liked to see the new HyperOS 3 with Android 16. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip sits at the helm along with 8GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage. The M8 also comes with a 5,520mAh Si/C battery, which also supports reverse wired charging with speeds up to 18W.
On paper, the Poco M8 seems like a good deal considering its starting price of $230/£230. Our review team is already putting the device through our usual round of tests and we’ll be back with a verdict soon.
