Samsung and Qualcomm have reached an agreement and the upcoming Galaxy S23 series will use an exclusive chipset whose official name will be “Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy”. That’s quite a bite, isn’t it? Don’t worry, Samsung has prepared a more concise way to remind people of the bespoke chipset that powers its new flagships.

The modified Snapdragon logo will be used in relevant promotional images. By the way, some promotional images have already leaked a few days before the official presentation on February 1st. Get ready to see this sort of thing on lots of billboards and the web starting next week:

The chipset will be a Samsung exclusive, certainly at launch and perhaps forever, the details on the agreement with Qualcomm are vague for now. This “Snapdragon for Galaxy” thing should also extend into next year with the Galaxy S24 generation. After that, Samsung MX could jump ship and start using its in-house chipset.
