The newer Snapdragon Wear 4100+ is based on the 12nm process and includes a new coprocessor to help handle more background tasks like sensor input and sound. This SoC has made performance and battery improvements over the Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform.
We can’t wait to see what kind of improvements the upcoming Snapdragon Wear platform will have. We expect to see something more like Samsung’s Exynos W920 (5nm) SoC, but it’s hard to predict Qualcomm’s next move with wearables. Given Google’s newfound focus on Wear OS, perhaps it will be something that will advance the platform as many Wear OS devices prior to version 3.0 are based on Snapdragon Wear Platforms.

All we know is that a new wearable chip comes from Qualcomm. We don’t know which OEMs will use it when it hits the market, nor its specs, not until Qualcomm makes its official announcement shortly.
