Xiaomi India crowned yet another launch event in which we saw the debut of the Redmi K50i 5G and Redmi Buds 3 Lite wireless earphones. The phone is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8100, a 6.6-inch LCD with an adaptive refresh rate of 144Hz, and a 5080mAh battery with 67W fast charging.
Redmi K50i 5G
The LCD panel of the K50i 5G is of the Fringe Field Switching (FFS) variety and is the first Redmi phone with Dolby Vision support. There’s Gorilla Glass 5 for protection and a 16MP selfie cam in the centered hole cutout. The phone features dual speakers with Dolby Atmos and a high impedance headphone jack.
There is a 64MP ISOCELL GW 1 main sensor on the back along with an 8MP ultrawide module and a 2MP macro cam. The software side is covered by Android 12 with MIUI 13. Redmi K50i 5G gets a 5080 mAh battery with 67W fast charging with PD support up to 27W. Other notable features include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and an IR port.
Redmi K50i 5G is available in black, blue and silver. Pricing starts at INR 25,999 ($) for the basic 6/128 GB variant. The 8/128 GB model will cost INR 28,999 ($). Early Bird offers bring the price down to INR 20.999 and INR 23.999 respectively. Open sales begin on July 23 at midnight.
Redmi Buds 3 Lite offers dynamic 6mm drivers, Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity and up to 18 hours of playback. They are IP54 resistant to dust and splashes and will be priced at INR 1,999 ($ 25).
