In addition to the Turbo 5 Max, made official yesterday in China, Redmi also presented the basic Turbo 5 with a smaller battery and the Dimensity 8500-Ultra SoC.
It is the first phone in the world to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chipset. The Turbo 5 comes with LPDDR5 Ultra RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, and the same vapor chamber cooling setup as the larger Max model.

The Redmi Turbo 5 features a slightly smaller 6.59-inch AMOLED display than the Max variant. The display offers a 120Hz refresh rate, 3,500 nits peak brightness, and 1.5K resolution. It is also a 12-bit panel with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support.
The device packs a 7,560mAh battery and supports 100W wired charging. It also features 27W reverse wired charging, similar to the Turbo 5 Max.

As for cameras, the Turbo 5 has a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary rear sensor paired with an 8MP ultrawide unit. There is a 20MP selfie camera on the front.
The handset runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. It has a metal frame and a glass back panel, similar to the Turbo 5 Max.
Other specifications of the phone include an in-display optical fingerprint scanner, an infrared sensor, stereo speakers, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS and NFC. In terms of dimensions, it measures 8.18mm thick and weighs 204g.

Redmi Turbo 5 is available in Auspicious Cloud White, Light Sea Green and Shadow Black color options.
It can currently be ordered via the official Xiaomi China online store. The 12GB/256GB option costs CNY1,999 ($290) and the 12GB/512GB variant costs CNY2,299 ($330). Meanwhile, the 16GB/256GB model will cost you CNY 2,299 ($330), and the 16GB/512GB option costs CNY 2,599 ($370).
