The Samsung Galaxy S10 launched in 2019 features a 10MP selfie shooter, an upgrade over the S9’s 8MP front camera. However, this selfie camera has remained unchanged on the S21 and S22 series smartphones (except the Ultra models). But a new report says it could change next year as Samsung is considering using 12MP drives.

Word comes from the Dutch publication Galaxy Club, which claims that the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 + could be equipped with 12MP selfie cameras. However, it is unclear whether they will be placed inside holes or under the display. We also don’t know if there will be OIS for the front cameras.

What is unclear is also whether the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s selfie camera will receive a 40MP megapixel boost over the S22 Ultra or whether it will stay the same.

There is still plenty of time for the Galaxy S23 series to launch, so expect to learn more about the lineup in the coming months.
