The Samsung Galaxy Watch8 Classic is the new middle ground of the Galaxy Smartwatch series. It is located above the Watch8 base line and borrows some features of the Galaxy Watch Ultra while keeping its rotating desk from the signature.
There is nothing surprising inside the box, Samsung is giving you a magnetic wireless bearing connected to a USB-C cable. Our revision unit is available in black, which has some contrasting elements in stainless steel, emanating an acute and elegant appearance. It comes with the fake band of leather watches, which is unfortunately owner, so you cannot simply exchange any old 20 mm band as in previous generations.
Back to the frame. We certainly have a weak point for physical control buttons and simply do not improve a tactile knob like this. But there is more, Galaxy Watch8 Classic also borrows the quick button of Galaxy Watch Ultra. It is reborn so that it can be assigned to all types of different characteristics or shortcuts.
Strangely, the 46 mm classic Watch8 is equipped with a 1.32 -inch AMOLED screen of the same size as the 40 mm Galaxy Watch much smaller 8. It is still protected by Sapphire Glass and maximum 3,000 nit which should be more than enough, even for a bright external use.
Watch8 Classic gets the Exynos W1000 chip just like Vanilla and Ultra models, together with 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage space.
Samsung says that the 445 mAh battery inside the classic Watch8 should offer up to 40 hours with the always active display (AOD) and 30 hours with AOD ON. We will make sure to test these statements together with the health and activities functionality in our detailed review.
