Some time ago @OnLeaks released renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Xcover Pro 2. Except it may not be what the phone is called: the Google Play Console actually lists a device called “xcoverpro2”, but gives its trade name as “Galaxy Xcover6 Pro “.

Whatever the final name, the rugged phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 778G, as we saw in the Geekbench results. The test drive had 6GB of RAM and that appears to be the only option, at least judging by the GPC data.

The renders have suggested that the new Xcover will have a 6.56-inch display, which will have a resolution of 1,080 x 2,408 pixels (which works with a 20: 9 aspect ratio). This will be an AMOLED panel, if the rumors are to be believed.

As seen in the renderings, the selfie camera is wedged into the display and there are sturdy bezels around the perimeter. As per tradition, on the side there will be a function button with a red accent.

The phone will arrive with Android 12 (with One UI 4.x) ready to use sometime later this year, the exact launch date is unclear. The model number is SM-G736U, so we will keep an eye on it in future leaks.
