So far, most smartphone makers, including Apple and Samsung, have managed to absorb the memory chip price shock by optimizing and cutting costs elsewhere. However, this may not be possible for Samsung in the future.

According to a report from Greece, Samsung plans to increase the prices of some of its phones in Europe starting in June. The prices of the Galaxy S series and the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 are expected to increase by around 100 euros.

It’s unclear whether the price increase will only affect base models, but it’s easy to assume that higher-tier storage options will see some sort of price increase as well.
It’s also safe to assume that Samsung won’t be the only one passing on the higher cost of RAM prices to its consumers. Analysts have warned us of a price increase in the second half of this year due to the memory shortage, so buckle up.
