Samsung has announced its partnership with Natural Cycles, a company known for its FDA-cleared birth control app, to bring skin temperature-based cycle tracking to the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro.

With temperature sensor technology from Samsung and fertility technology from Natural Cycles to provide users with more detailed information about their menstrual cycle, Galaxy Watch5 series users will be able to access advanced cycle tracking via the Cycle Tracking feature on the Samsung Health app.

The Cycle Tracking function has already been approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of the Republic of Korea and has been registered with the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It also complies with the requirements for CE marking.

This temperature-based cycle tracking will be available to Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro users in 32 countries, including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States

Samsung has said that this feature will be available to Galaxy Watch5 series users in Q2 2023, but did not provide any specific date for the launch.
