Samsung has finally released the Galaxy Enhance-X photo editing app for the Galaxy S23 series. The app has been up and running on the Galaxy S22 trio since last summer, albeit in an older version – 1.0.35. This new version is 1.0.55 and is still in beta, it takes advantage of the most powerful GPU of the Galaxy S23 series.
The app is a “magic zoom photo editor” that uses artificial intelligence to add HDR to your images, brighten them, fix blur, sharpen, fix moiré, remove reflections or shadows, fix lens distortion and create a portrait mode shot from a regular one. There are face retouching features as well.
There’s also a magic button that enhances an image in any way the app sees fit.

The new app is available for the Galaxy S23 series starting today — it’s an 85MB download in the Galaxy Store. It will eventually come to specific models of the Galaxy A series and the Galaxy S22 series will be upgraded to it.
We’ve tried it and it does a good job, even if it’s very thin. However, for the life of us, we couldn’t find a way to upscale a 1600x720px image to a larger size.
